Enjoy the Slopes
A Cozy Ski Resort for the Whole Family
About Kommattivaara Ski Resort
The resort has four slopes, all with gentle profiles, making them ideal for beginners. The longest slope is 560 metres, with a vertical drop of 94 metres. Floodlighting allows skiing also in the evenings.
There is one drag lift (T-bar lift) that safely takes skiers to the top of the slope. One of the advantages of a smaller resort is shorter queues – giving you more time to ski.
More advanced skiers can test their skills on jumps (snow park boxes) located on the right-hand side of the front slope. The upper box is the smallest, the middle box is the largest, and the lower box offers a difficulty level between the two. Kommattivaara Ski Resort operates entirely on natural snow. The slopes are opened once there is sufficient natural snow for safe skiing, and the season continues as long as snow conditions allow.

Ski Slopes
The main slope is slightly steeper at the top but quickly becomes gentler towards the bottom.
The forest slope starts from the top of Kommattivaara and is the longest slope, measuring 560 metres with a vertical drop of 94 metres. At the edges of the maintained slope area, you can try off-piste skiing in untouched natural snow.
The racing slope allows for higher speeds if desired, but its rolling profile keeps skiing controlled. The wide slope provides plenty of space for turns, making it ideal for practising snowboarding.
The children’s area is a small slope located on the left side of the lift line.

Avoid waiting times by booking your service in advance using the reservation form on the left side of the page.

Sledding Hill
A sledding hill is located on the right-hand side of the ski slopes and is freely accessible, even outside opening hours. The starting point is marked with red poles.
On quieter days, sledding may also be allowed on the slopes, provided that safety guidelines are strictly followed. If you don’t have your own sled, you can rent one from the rental shop.
Campfire Spots
At the bottom of the slope, there is a lean-to shelter and a campfire site available for free use. In addition, there is a cabin located at the top of the slope where you can also stop for a campfire.
Stay Safe on the Slopes
Skiing is done at your own risk. By taking care of your own safety and that of others, everyone can enjoy a pleasant day on the slopes.
For Families with Children
- Go through safety guidelines with children before heading onto the slopes.
- Children are always the responsibility of their parents.
Equipment
- The use of a helmet is strongly recommended. It provides good protection, especially against minor head injuries.
- Make sure your equipment is properly adjusted and in good condition. Assistance is available at the rental shop.
We wish you Happy and safe time at our slopes!
Remember this:
- Ski according to your skill level and keep your speed under control. Being able to stop is one of the most important skills.
- Pay special attention to your speed and slow down when necessary, especially in poor visibility.
- The skier coming from above must always anticipate and give way to those below.
- Do not stop in places with poor visibility (e.g. behind bumps).
- Use jumps only when your skill level is sufficient.
